About
Software engineer and product builder
I've built software for companies in logistics, gaming, entertainment and payments, and now I build my own products from scratch. Both kinds of work need the same thing: understanding the real problem well enough to model it correctly, then engineering something that holds up in production.
How I work today
Most of my professional work has been on the server side of serious systems. That includes enterprise APIs connecting web and mobile apps to a point-of-sale platform, a game-services engine for regulated online slot products, the software and database behind a robotic package-storage system, and a small-business communications platform with Twilio SMS. Along the way I've managed a development team, led client implementations, and been both the lead developer and the technical project manager on the same project.
Since 2025 I've been designing and building my own products. The Pool League Manager, Cartier Suicide Pool and Random Prize Wheel each needed the full set of decisions: what to build, how to model it, how to make it work well on a phone, and how to keep it running. Making all of those decisions myself has taught me exactly where product choices and engineering choices affect each other.
I work in the current Microsoft and web stack: C#, .NET 8, ASP.NET Core, React, TypeScript and SQL Server. All three of my products were built with an AI-assisted development workflow. I direct Claude Code and ChatGPT across architecture and design iteration, implementation, debugging, refactoring and feature development. The AI speeds up the work, but the product decisions, the architecture and the review of what ships stay with me, so I still understand every line I'm responsible for maintaining.
Two strengths
An engineer who thinks like a product owner
As an engineer
- Design APIs, services and data models that hold up as requirements change
- Write C#/.NET, React/TypeScript and SQL every day
- Build integrations for SMS, email, payments and third-party data
- Automate scheduled work with background processing
- Direct Claude Code and ChatGPT through design, implementation, debugging and refactoring
- Test the business rules that matter most
As a product builder
- Start from the user and the workflow, not the framework
- Make scope decisions and ship working software
- Own UX on both desktop and mobile
- Run what I build: support, analytics, SEO and the roadmap
- Explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
What I'm looking for
Senior software engineering, senior or lead full-stack .NET development, and technical product leadership roles, where building it well and building the right thing both count.
